Funny you should mention Girl Genius. I just finished getting fully caught up on both GG101 and the Advanced Class mere minutes before seeing what was up at Cocktail Party Physics.

Incidentally, the Mad Scientist is tasty, but you have to be careful drinking it; the rim of the glass can actually get pretty hot.

The wonderfully superb anime "Read or Die" has the historical bent as well as a fully dressed and cute as a button heroine.

"Tasteful jumpers as opposed to string bikinis!"

Uhh... I don't know which Girl Genius *you've* been reading, but...

:-P

And for those of you who want more of the fictional Tesla, he makes repeated cameo appearances, cured of his manias and traveling through time, in Spider Robinson's hilarious yet strangely scientific series of Callahan's Crosstime Saloon.

And come on, Aaron F., Agatha's in bed, sleeping in that one. Do you sleep in your clothes? (Please don't answer that!) 99% of the time, she's fully dressed, and modestly so, which is a lot more than you can say for the babes in the Marvelverse or Planet DC who're gratuitously half-nekkid or wearing spray-on costumes to emphasize, er, cover their impossible anatomy.

In disagreement with Aaron and agreement with Lee, I'll also point out that what Agatha is wearing in the linked comic is not a string bikini, and does in fact provide a good bit more coverage. Dress in the comic tends to be on the Victorian side, so we seldom see female characters in anything more revealing than a corset.

This is not to say that Phil and Kaja Foglio are above drawing nude women: these are the people who also brought you Xenophile.

Mmmmm, not that it adds much to the discussion, but I sleep commando.

Hi! Bertha never (as far as Matt and I know) traded sexual favors with Tesla in the comic. Like he said, he didn't want to be touched. They were taking clothes off so she could wear the control rig clothing he still had on, setting up for the wacky, "ZOMG!" from Twain and Timmy. Oh the zany misunderstandings!

Anyway, that's how it was supposed to read. We did lot of that comic off the cuff, with later revisions, and it shows in parts. (esp this one) So, apologies for any non-zany misunderstandings. :)

Oh, and the "osmotic integrator" was from a dream I had.

best,

steven
